“Do you sometimes not have an outcome in mind when you create your art?”
— Bridget J.

Question: From, Bridget J. (FL)

June 23, 2016

Thank you bridget for your question, its not often i receive a question about my work ethic and id like to see more of these. As to answer your question, as i've gotten further and further in my career as a artist, i must say "hell to the nah nah nah nahhhhhh.,,,," at least i can say that now, but i believe its mainly because ive been exposed to a multitudes of options and experiences received from predecessors & my influences today, from art deco/art nouveau, to the stylization of wood block prints of Japan's edo period & even the influence of my peers & colleagues. Its was once stated,

““It’s easy for someone to joke about scars if they’ve never been cut” ”
— (Romeo and Juliet - William shakespeare )

i Believe creating original work is terribly easy until one acknowledges the weight of history... and in that history, is where we find our true selves as craftsmen, and as a people.
I hope i was able to answer your question in all.

Much love and peace,
-Emor
